Full removal means extracting the entire root ball — heavier work, more disruption, and only necessary if you're building over the spot or installing utilities.
For 95% of residential stumps, grinding is the right call. It's faster, cheaper, and leaves your yard usable without tearing up the surrounding ground.

When to Grind Right After Removal vs. Wait
If you've just had a tree removed, grinding the stump same-day or within a week or two is the right call — the wood is still soft and grinds faster. Old stumps that have hardened up over years can still be ground but take longer, which can affect cost. If you have multiple stumps from past removals, we'll quote them as a batch.
What About Termites and Pests?
